Introducing one of the latest GOTEK floppy EMULATOR featuring updated firmware from Flash Floppy. Includes a genuine 23-pin D-sub external lead for Disk Port (DF1). All GOTEK drives undergo testing prior to shipping on our test Amiga. These drives are suitable for use with A500, A600, A1200, A2000, and A4000 models. A pre-fitted data ribbon cable and adapter are included to facilitate connection of an this external Gotek/USB floppy disk emulator to the rear disk drive port of Amiga models A500*, A500+, A600, A1200, A2000, and A4000.
This cable and adapter also supply power to your Gotek drive.
It's an excellent solution for integrating an external USB Gotek onto your Amiga as a secondary drive, allowing you to back up your floppy disks or boot from USB. Since it's an external addition, it serves as a non-invasive upgrade to your Amiga, enabling you to retain your original floppy disk drive!
Compatible with all Amiga models, including 500 (with some notes below), 500+, 600, 1200, 2000, and 4000, this setup connects via the 23-pin external Amiga Disk Drive port for both power and data. This results in a tidy single ribbon cable featuring a plug at one end.
The cable offers a straightforward plug-and-play experience across all common Amiga systems. You can select the boot drive by holding down two mouse buttons during startup, with the exception of the Amiga 500. *While it is compatible with the Amiga 500, you will require a boot selector to translate the SEL0 and SEL1 signals to make DF1 bootable. When connected to the Disk Drive port, the Gotek Drive will be identified AS DEFAULT , the second floppy drive, DF1, and will appear as DF2 or DF3 if linked to another external floppy drive.
Booting directly from a Gotek or external floppy on your Amiga may depend on specific games or software, as some are programmed to only run from DF0:. This has been verified on Workbench as well, where it functions seamlessly as a second drive, appearing as DF1:, DF2:, etc. It can also be utilised with applications like X-copy for backing up floppy disks to USB or vice versa.
The package includes:
1. A Black Gotek USB Floppy Emulator with the firmware pre-installed.
2. DVD-rom with over 4000 Amiga ADFs
3. Printed instructions and guides.
4. USB Flashdrive, Ready to Use!
