The WiFi 64 is a hardware adapter that plugs into the user port of a Commodore 64 to let it connect to modern Wi-Fi networks and access vintage online spaces like BBS (Bulletin Board System) servers.
How It Works
- Hardware: It uses an ESP8266 or similar microcontroller-based Wi-Fi module to translate serial communication into standard Hayes-compatible modem AT commands.
- Connection: It plugs directly into the C64 user port, drawing power and exchanging data without needing native TCP/IP stack support on the vintage computer itself.
