Powkiddy X51 5.0-inch Retro Handheld Game Console
 
The Powkiddy X51 retro console has analogue controls on both sides as well as triggers at the rear. The console has a 5.0″ horizontal format screen with IPS technology and a resolution of 800 X 480. 
 
There are ten emulators built in such as PS1, NEOGEO, GB Advance, GB Color, G Boy, SNES, NES, Mega Drive plus two Arcade Emulators. 
 
According to the advertising blurb there are approximately 2500 installed games and, using a PC, even more can easily be added to the included 32GB Micro SD card (which can be upgraded to 64GB if you need to add even more games).
 
It has literally been opened to check. Battery charged to make sure it worked then put back in the box.
 
I have to say it certainly seems to be more robust than I was expecting and has more connectivity than I thought it would have - Iit can have 2 USB gamepads plugged in for multi-player games.
 
Unmistakeably, the Powkiddy X51 resembles a Nintendo Switch, albeit one with a much smaller display and without detachable controllers. The Powkiddy X51 has three USB ports, an HDMI port and microSD card expansion, among other features.
 
Powkiddy has introduced the X51, another retro gaming handheld by the company modelled on an existing games console. This time, Powkiddy has aped the Nintendo Switch, with the Powkiddy X51 even featuring the Switch's blue and red Joy-Con controllers. Unsurprisingly, the Powkiddy X51 does not come with detachable controllers. However, Powkiddy has included more ports than the Nintendo Switch has, with two USB Type-A ports, a USB Type-C connection, an HDMI port and a 3.5 mm headphone jack.
 
Also, the Powkiddy X51 has a microSD card support, needed because of the device's 128 MB of built-in storage. Additionally, the Powkiddy X51 has 128 MB of LPDDR2 RAM and an ATM7051 chip found in equivalent devices. For reference, the ATM7051 has four ARM Cortex-A9 cores running at 900 MHz, which power a 5.0-inch IPS display operating at 800 x 480 pixels. Incidentally, the Powkiddy X51 has a 2,500 mAh battery and a 0.8 W speaker, should you not have any headphones to hand.
