Indigo (Unreleased)
Developer: Stéphane Belin / Domenico Manfredi
Publisher: Psygnosis
Genre: Side-Scrolling Platformer
Step into the pages of a young boy's imagination with Indigo, a visually striking, lost platformer originally slated for publication by Psygnosis.
You play as Jack, an imaginative youth who loves sketching adventures starring his fictional hero, Indigo. When Indigo mysteriously becomes trapped inside the very pages of the sketchpad, Jack has no choice but to dive into his own hand-drawn worlds to rescue him. Navigating vibrant, multi-layered environments, players must track down hidden keys, outwit quirky robotic enemies, and beat the clock before time runs out.
Key Features
Imaginative Aesthetic: Features gorgeous, colourful pixel art and smooth sprite animation that capture the classic, high-end visual pedigree associated with the Psygnosis label.
Dynamic Combat & Interaction: Jump to stun enemies, pick them up to hurl at obstacles, or use unique mechanics to uncover hidden path-clearing bonuses.
Super-Powered Arsenal: Discover a variety of game-changing power-ups, including screen-clearing flashes, throwable footballs, and a temporary transformation into a flying, laser-firing superhero.
A Lost Legend Restored: Though shelved by publishers moments before its commercial release in the mid-90s, this near-complete gem eventually surfaced to let retro enthusiasts experience what could have been a 16-bit classic.
Note: Though shelved by Psygnosis prior to its official retail rollout, Indigo was later finalized and released free to the retro community by its original creators.
